The Boarding Experience at RNS

The experience of living in residence prepares students for university life by helping them to become more independent and organized. Students learn to live with others and they learn how to manage their time in order to lead a balanced life. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, students form very close friendships with their housemates and roommates, and these relationships last a lifetime.

Houseparents

Each of the RNS residences has two houseparent apartments. This allows our houseparents (and their families) to live with the students in residence, creating a safe, comfortable, family-like environment. Houseparents and Assistant Houseparents serve as role models and surrogate parents to our boarding students.

Residences are staffed on a 24-hour-per-day, 7-days-a-week basis. The Houseparents are immediately responsible for the well-being of each student in their house. They are the first line of communication for the parents in regard to any social matter. The Houseparent should be contacted regarding rules and regulations or concerns of a personal nature.

Parents who wish to speak with their son or daughter may contact the School Office (506-847-8224) during business hours to leave a message, or they may contact their child through the Houseparent.
